Sheep Knight
Indie Arcade Game
Sheep Knight is a light endless-runner type game in which the player plays a clumsy knight who moves forward in space using a particularly bouncy sheep, followed by a formidable dragon - which also jumps on its own sheep.
I filled all the roles in creating and producing the game, from concept, design, illustration and animation to writing the code and tests.
This game was built specifically for a one-button arcade machine, so it was important to design the entire game and screens accordingly.
Sheep Knight was created by following the children game "Tag" in order to convey the familiar feelings from the physical game to the virtual world: the feeling of the constant pressure to move forward and the thrill that accompanies it. As in the original game, it lasts until the player is captured by their pursuer.
The visual inspiration for the sheep came from the amusing movement of the jumping sheep from Australia.

The choice of using the knight as a character with whom the player will identify came from the world of arcade games (such as Knights of the Round, The King of Dragons, Tecmo Knight, etc.) and as an amusing juxtaposition to the sheep which serves as the knight's mount.

The dragon who plays the role of the pursuer in this game came as a reversal of the common fantasy theme that the two characters share.
Later, the game was adapted for mobile.
